How We Protect Land

North Olympic Land Trust fulfills its mission to protect land in  four ways: Natures Wonder

  1. Through conservation easements, which are voluntary legal agreements between a landowner and a land trust or government agency to permanently protect the identified natural features and conservation values of that property.

  2. Through direct ownership of lands that North Olympic Land Trust receives through donation or bequest.Land Worth Protecting

  3. Through perpetual monitoring and stewardship of both easements and owned lands, and through ongoing partnerships with the landowners.

  4.  By providing assistance and serving as partners to local and state governments, community groups, and businesses in identifying conservation values and developing ways to achieve mutually beneficial land-related solutions.
