Conservation Area Steward

Description

Do you live near a Land Trust Conservation Area or frequently visit an area? If so, consider becoming a Conservation Area Steward by regularly walking the trails to monitor trail conditions, assisting with property maintenance, monitoring the area for trash or signs of undesirable use of the area, refilling property brochure boxes, and providing a monthly site visit report to the Land Trust.

Frequency

Monthly (preferably twice a month in summer and once a month in winter).

Time

4-6 hours per visit depending on conservation area.

Skills

Basic computer skills and ability to fill out a site visit report and e-mail to Land Manager, ability to work independently and can provide own transportation.
