Pysht Conservation Area: Tree and Shrub Planting

Description

Help plant native trees and shrubs at the Pysht Conservation Area on March 4, 2019. This revegetation effort is as part of a larger, multi-year restoration project that included the installation of a series of engineered log jams throughout the lower reach of the Pysht River.

What to bring:

  • Warm, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes
  • Work gloves
  • Water and a sack lunch (event organizers do plan to have some drinks and snacks available as well)
  • Anything else you need to be comfortable working outdoors

Onsite training will be provided.

Frequency

March 4, 2019

Time

All day event. We'll carpool from Laird's corner park and ride in Port Angeles at 8:30 am. Plant at the Pysht from 9:30 am-3:30 pm. Return to Port Angeles 4:30 pm.

Skills

Ability to work outdoors in the field and plant trees and shrubs, and able to provide own transportation to the Pysht Conservation Area. Carpool options may become available.
