August 26, 2025 at 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Join North Olympic Land Trust for a series of free community walks led by local experts that highlight the Elwha River and the amazing restoration done to support the watershed.
On August 26th at 5:30 we will be taking a walk down to the former site of the Elwha Dam with David Brownell, Executive Director of North Olympic History Center. Together, we’ll explore the area while learning more about the history of the region, the dams, and the river.
We will gather at the parking area at the Elwha River Interpretive Center, which is immediately to the right when you turn off of Hwy 112 onto Lower Dam Road. Participants should expect to walk 1-2 miles on uneven terrain.
Please bring a water bottle and anything that would keep you comfortable on a nature walk. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended, some folks may find trekking poles useful.
