Experience nature in a new way with nature journaling.

Spend a morning using curiosity and creativity to record your observations about the plants, animals, and insects that call Elk Creek home.

You’ll join North Olympic Land Trust and Forks Library staff at the parking area at 9:00am before heading out on the trail. Bring your nature journal and use your observations to complete the scavenger hunt. Refreshments will be available at the pavilion near the creek, where self-exploration can continue at your own pace.

Waivers are required for participation in this program; please sign a waiver when you arrive.

The 255-acre Elk Creek Conservation Area in Forks offers beautiful regenerating forests along a tributary of the Calawah River called Elk Creek. The trail is 2.6 miles out and back along a mix of gravel and natural surfaces, with a small section of 10% grade.

This program series is offered in partnership with the North Olympic Land Trust and the Forks Branch Library. It is also generously supported in part by Friends of Forks Library.
