SUMMARY:Second Saturday Stroll - Salmon Stroll with ONP
DESCRIPTION:For our September Stroll we will be hiking from the Madison Falls for 2.45 Miles to the Altair Campground – with an optional excursion to the old dam removal site(an additional 1 mile). The total length of this excursion (including the Dam site) is 7.5 miles with 843 ft of elevation gain. To see a full map of the trail please visit this website. \n\n\n\n For this Stroll we are partnering with our Fish Biologist friends from Olympic National Park. Team member Henry Gould will be spearheading our journey up the Elwha River. Gould regularly surveys salmon populations in this section of river for the Park and will be guiding us through the salmon ecology and history of the Elwha.   \n\n\n\nWe will be hitting the trails early on the Second Saturday in September(the 12th)\, road snacks will be provided by the Land Trust! This event is weather-dependent. Please bring a full water bottle(or two) and be sure to dress for the weather and uneven terrain.  \n\n\n\nThis Stroll is more strenuous than previous events held this summer\, we are committed to creating a positive\, safe and quality experience for everyone.
